When: Sunday 23rd of October @ 13:30-16:00
Price: 450kr / 400kr for members
Instructor: Mila
With the accelerated pace of modern life, we often feel overwhelmed or fatigued, even after a full night’s sleep. That’s why we tend to fall asleep before relaxing first. When this becomes the norm, our bodies endure chronic exhaustion and accumulation of stress.
With this workshop, we invite you to take an afternoon to slow down and experience practices that will soothe and nurture your whole being.
We’ll start with a gentle self-massage to facilitate a state of relaxation. You will discover how self-massage can help us relieve some common physical complaints. Followed by the massage is a Restorative yoga practice that will help you to release tension and let go of stress. The third component of the Restore and Reflect workshop is Yoga Nidra. This practice is designed to help you tap into your subconscious, reconnect to your worthy authentic self and cultivate a loving relationship with yourselves.
As the fall season invites us to slow down and shift our focus inward, we’ll take 10 minutes after our meditation for self-inquiry through journaling prompts. We’ll take inventory of our 2022 so far and assess the near-future goals we would like to accomplish.
Throughout our time together, we will learn about the five koshas - layers or sheaths of energy in the human body. They include the physical body, the energy body, the psycho-emotional body, the wisdom body, and the bliss body. Self-massage, restorative yoga, journaling, and yoga Nidra aim to help us nurture all aspects of ourselves and achieve balance in the five koshas.
We’ll finish our workshop with a healthy snack and a Q and A.
More about the different self-care practices
Restorative yoga
Restorative yoga is a very gentle and slow style of yoga in which we hold each pose for a longer time. In this practice, we use props to support our bodies and make us feel comfortable. This makes restorative yoga suitable for everybody.
Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation that induces a deep state of relaxation on a physical, energetic, mental and emotional level. As our body unwinds, the thinking mind fades away while our awareness becomes crisp and clear. By calming the mental distractions of the mind, it becomes easier to observe our emotions and subconscious beliefs that may not be serving us our best interests. The regular practice of yoga Nidra helps us tap into our subconscious mind, which allows us to rethink those self-limiting beliefs and rewrite new neural pathways that will help us achieve our goals and dreams.
Self-massage with essential oils
Self-massage is a powerful and accessible tool that anyone can use for a variety of concerns - from managing stress and anxiety to soothing muscle aches and improving lymphatic circulation. To elevate our experience, even more, we’ll use aromatherapy oils specifically created for our workshop. Aromatherapy is a holistic, complementary health-care discipline that uses diluted essential oils in a full body massage.
Who can participate?
Everyone is welcome! This workshop is particularly designed for those interested in nurturing your whole being and learning more about the subtle body. The subtle body is notion that Yoga and other Eastern traditions explore. It represents an aspect of the human body that is not solely physical nor it is solely spiritual.
Do I need to bring anything?
You are welcome to bring a pen and journal in addition to your yoga mat and warm comfy clothes.
